School Meal Program
The heart of our work at Hope Grows is our school meal program in a small village in Romania. Providing weekly meals for the students does more than just meet their physical needs, but it gives the students a reason to show up and learn. Since the weekly meals began in January, school attendance has increased by 33%, proving that these meals are making an impact on their education. Motivating these students to attend school reduces their vulnerability to the effects of poverty, and sets them up to continue their education and lead them into a better future. These students face many barriers when it comes to continuing their education, and our goal is to help remove those barriers by beginning with a school meal program. These kids are able to spend valuable time in the classroom, and enjoy a lunch that keeps them wanting to return to school each day.

Little Steps for Big Futures
Hope Grows provided Crocs to some of our younger students, giving them comfortable and reliable shoes to wear throughout the school day. Meeting practical needs like these can make it a little easier for children to show up, participate, and focus on simply being kids and learning. Keeping these kids at school learning is just one small step in continuing their education into a brighter future!

Bright Futures in the Making
Hope Grows has also been given the opportunity to fund two sisters who want to continue their education by attending high school. Supporting their next chapter means opening the door to more learning, greater opportunities, and the chance to build a brighter, more independent future. Monthly funding gives them the opportunity to attend high school and one day graduate!
